Machu Picchu is a wonderful place to see, it is inspiring, by far is one of the most beautiful places I have seen in South America. To get there you can just take the train, and that is already a beautiful trip, the views are breathtaking. I have to say that the geography of Peru is very alike as the ecuadorian, for instance I was feeling like at home. I wanted to see the sunrise to get the best shots, but in December is the rainy season, which means can be cloudy most of the time because of the rain. I was really afraid of getting there and not been able to see this magical place (I was told by the locals that sometimes you are in Machu Picchu and can’t see further than 5mts, so sad!), but after a bit the sky opened and it became clear to wander and explore this Inca city hidden in the middle of the mountains. The morning to get there while in the bus going up I was having butterflies in my tummy, next to me sat a french girl and I asked her if it was her first time also to see Machu Picchu and she told me yes, that she was also feeling something special for the excitement of finally getting to see one of the wonders of the world. All the trip to Cuzco, the city itself, the Sacred Valley, and everything that involves the Inca empire and culture will make you feel proud, as a south american I felt like that. Most of us decent from this amazing civilization, it’s sad also that so many beautiful places are only ruins to visit, but at least you can still go and experience and understand how great they were even before the colonization. I recommend everybody to visit Machu Picchu. I loved it! I will go back for sure!! Which is the wonder of the world that you wanna see the most?
